  1. Cyclist.ie Greenway Event a Great Success!

Over 15 greenway groups and urban cycle campaigns came together to share experiences at the Cyclist.ie organised greenways seminar in Dublin at the weekend.

There is a great momentum growing as more and more communities are campaigning for cycle friendly towns and recreational routes all around the island of Ireland, and all are looking for further advice and expertise to help with their advocacy work. Over 25 delegates attended, travelling from Belfast, Dingle, Mulranny, Sligo, Limerick, Kildare, Dundalk and many other spots to join local cycling advocates in Dublin.

Presentations for the speakers can be found here:

Dr. Mike McKillen, Chairperson of Cyclist.ie, drew the event to a close by outlining the benefits for greenway groups in becoming part of the Cyclist.ie family: “By working together, we can raise the priority given to cycling by the Department of Tourism and Sport, and improve the quality of what is provided by sharing best practice”.

Watch this space for more information on how your Greenway Group can join Cyclist.ie – and help to recreate a strong cycling culture in Ireland.
