Privacy Statement

The page describes how Cyclist.ie collects, processes, protects and manages personal data.

When an individual member joins Cyclist.ie, he or she provides an email address which generally also includes a name. These are recorded in a membership spreadsheet along with the payment date of membership. This data is kept so that members can be contacted to notify them of campaign activities such as Council meetings, to allow Cyclist.ie to monitor and report on the membership and financial health of the organisation and other occasional notifications. Data for lapsed members is deleted after two years.

When a group joins Cyclist.ie, the group name and contact details for key personnel including Executive members are recorded. This data is kept so that group members can be contacted to notify them of Cyclist.ie activities such as Council meetings and to include them in correspondence etc. Contact details of Executive members are also retained for the same reason.

Access to the membership data is restricted to a small number of authorised officers, via strict access control.

The membership data includes details of membership payments made. It does not include details of bank accounts or credit card numbers. These are held by Stripe, for those who opt to pay by Stripe, or by the relevant bank for those who opt to pay by standing order, cheque or bank transfer. The Stripe portal is subject to multifactor authentication.

We do not transfer personal data to third parties, e.g. for marketing purposes.

The website uses cookies for the normal functioning of the website and for traffic analysis.

Members can request a copy of their personal data, free of charge. A response will be provided within one month in electronic form, unless otherwise requested. If a member’s personal data is incorrect they can ask for it to be corrected. They can also request that their data is deleted. All of these requests should be sent to Membership.
